TIPP CITY - Tipp City Public Library will have reduced hours of operation effective Monday, July 6.
New hours are: 12-8:30 p.m. Mondays, 12-5:30 p.m. Tuesdays; 12-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays, 12-6 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturdays. Closed Thursdays. The library will open 9 a.m. on Saturdays during Tippecanoe Farmers’ Market.
The library’s state funding through the first half of 2009 is down by 15 percent when compared to the same period in 2008. State funding for libraries is predicted to be down 15 to 20 percent for the second half of 2009 as well. These reductions make it impossible for the library to continue to operate as it has in the past.
Currently, program plans are being adjusted to reflect the decreased hours of operations.
Many of the programs affected by the cuts will be rescheduled. Watch your newspaper or the library’s website www.tippcitylibrary.org for announcements of new dates and times for these events.
The library staff remains committed to offering great programs, now and in the future. Tipp City Public Library is located at 11 E. Main St., and the telephone number is 937-667-3826. Find the library online at www.tippcitylibrary.org.
