![]() Folks walking around the downtown might have seen surveyors in the downtown area over the past week gathering topographic information and taking measurements of the roads and sidewalks. Wonder what they’re doing? Well, the downtown traffic signals are scheduled to be replaced in 2011 with decorative mast arms, LED signals and controllers that will be connected to the city’s computer system for better coordination. Choice One Engineering is getting ready to start the design process and the surveyors are the first step in the planning process. For further information, please contact the City of Tipp City. Get Social! Get Social! Radio is now airing repeats on KIT-TV. Tipp City’s only 24-hour internet radio station, which broadcasts continuously at www.getsocialradio.com, is now being rebroadcast on a regular schedule on KIT-TV!
Alternately, the Get Social Radio Show, hosted by myself and Mike McDermott, is also available for download from the website and from iTunes. Tune in Wednesdays at 1 p.m. to hear live shows, or catch one of our Dayton Gems play-by-play episodes. They’re a hoot! Partnership Downtown Tipp City Partnership Meets for January. The Jan. 19 meeting of the Downtown Tipp City Partnership welcomed local resident Logan Rogers as the new DTCP Board President. On the agenda was the installation of new officers, amendments to the bylaws and the implementation of an advisory board. Joining the board for 2010 are Cara King for a 3-year term and Liz Sonnanstine, who will complete the remaining year of the post vacated by Mark Mabelitini. Also joining the board are Carli Dean, representing the TMCS; Katelyn Black, representing City Council; and Tony Greene, representing the Tipp City Area Chamber of Commerce. Please join us for our next meeting on Feb. 16, where we will discuss upcoming projects such as the Antiques and Artisans Show and the kickoff of the fourth season of the Farmers’ Market, now operating as a separate entity. Have ideas, input, complaints, or concerns about what’s going on in YOUR downtown? Come to our meetings and discuss it! Foreigner Foreigner on Feb. 18! Does anyone plan on catching Foreigner when they play at the Hobart Arena on Thursday, Feb. 18? I’d love to hear about it. Shoot me an email - I love the idea of stars visiting Tipp and Troy. Anyone know of any other well-known bands or performers coming to the Miami Valley? Studio 14 Gallery For folks that made it to the Champaign reception at Studio 14 Gallery 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24 to meet the photographers who captured the beautiful black and white images in the exhibit “Montana Ghost Towns and City Parks ” and the artists whose work is on display in the Studio gallery, I’d love to hear from you. I hope it went great! I was stuck at work but I also heard that Studio 14 also is presenting the new Art Start Children’s gallery where young artists from the area will have their creations on display. Studio14 is located on the second floor of the Benkin Antique Gallery Building in the heart of historic downtown Tipp City . New Year’s resolutions How is everyone doing on their resolutions for the New Year? So far I’ve cut way back on buying cheap things I don’t need, and I’ve seen two Dayton Gems games. My other resolution is working fine, so far…keep those fingers crossed! Hear something interesting for Tipp Talk? Shoot me an email at
