Woodrow J. Radle, 93, of Bethel Township, died Aug. 17, 2010. He was born Nov. 7, 1916, in Missouri to Christopher Radle and Esther Douglas Radle. He lived in Bethel Township since 1946 when he started building his own home on Wildcat Road. He worked in the weather bureau at the Vandalia Airport and then as Senior Project Engineer for Chrysler Airtemp of Dayton. Several years ago he funded the Radle Family Fund for Science Education for Bethel Local School which provides funds for science scholarships or for projects in the community or for classroom science materials. Woodrow is survived by his wife, Mary (Brady) Radle; son, David Radle of Park Hills, Ky.; daughter, Marilyn (Radle) Leung of Rockville, Md.; five grandchildren, Brian Radle, Jeff Radle, Mandy (Radl) Jamison, Melissa Leung, Owen Leung; two great-grandchildren, Clara and Ethan Jamison; and nephews, Bruce Bloom and Gerald Fox. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Rosalie (Radle) Bloom and Dortha (Radle) Fox. Woodrow donated his body to the medical department at Wright State University and requested no funeral services. In lieu of any flowers, donations could be made to the Radle Family Fund for Science Education, in care of the Tipp City Area Community Funds, P.O. Box 626, Tipp City OH, 45371-0626. |
