WEST MILTON - Returning from the holiday break, high school students were greeted by a new face.

Jamie Pietrzak has taken the intervention specialist teaching position in the multiple handicapped class after Emily Artigas resigned for health issues.

Pietrzak is very excited about her new job and is anxious to see what she can do to help her students learn and excel above their expectations. She thinks she is ready for the job and confident she will fit in perfectly at Milton-Union.

After earning her high school diploma at Carroll High School, Pietrzak later moved on to Wright State University where she took her undergraduate and graduate classes.

She finished off her college career with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s in education.

“I am very impressed with what the new teacher has accomplished in just one week, and glad to have such a positive spirit in the classroom,” commented Trisha Overla, the teacher associate of the classroom. “She is a breath of fresh air,” Overla added.

Pietrzak wants to will do her best to teach and prepare her students for the life beyond school.

When asked why she took the job, she said, “I believe I have the patience and caring ability to work with individuals that have multiple disabilities. I think I can make a difference in their lives and am very thankful to have a job that I enjoy doing every day.”

She is very happy to have a job at Milton-Union and excited to see what she can do to help all of her students learn and acquire the skills they need to succeed.
