TIPP CITY - Tipp City Schools held the Sixth Annual Science Fair for students in grades 6-12 on Feb. 18. This event offered students a venue that promotes the development of creative thinking, research and writing skills and career motivation toward the sciences, all in one program. Tippecanoe Middle School and high school students completed and exhibited projects in biology, chemistry, botany, space & earth sciences, computers, zoology, microbiology, biochemistry, physics, engineering, mathematics, medicine & health and behavioral & social science. The 2010 Tippecanoe Science Fair was held at the Tippecanoe High School where 17 students received a “Superior” rating on their project and are eligible to go to the District contest held at Central State University on March 20. Students receiving a superior at District may go on to the State contest held at The Ohio State University in May. |

WEST MILTON - Milton-Union Elementary announced the fourth and fifth grade honor roll for the second quarter. Students must achieve at least one A or O in a subject area, the rest Bs. No C including conduct. By MIKE WOODY Record-Herald Writer TIPP CITY - While a collection of creative minds displayed their short story writing talents in the Tipp City Arts Council writing contest, only one winner was named for each of the four categories. Awarded with first place prizes were: Wendy Bauder, Lauren Brenner, Madeline Bauder and Kara Trimbach. The winner of the adult category, for ages 18 and up, was Wendy Bauder with a story titled, “The Price of Freedom.” It’s about a case of mistaken identity involving a member of the military back from the Gulf War and his parents. |
