![]() OWOSSO, Mich. - Mary (Scheaffer) Rohrer will celebrate her 90th birthday on Feb. 15. She was the only child of Edgar and Ethel Scheaffer, born in 1920 in her home on Frederick Road. She has lived in Vandalia and at her family homestead near West Milton for 40 years.
Mary graduated in 1938 from Butler High School and studied music through Sherwood Piano Course and took private piano lessons from Dr. Weldamar Sprague of the University of Dayton. She was a teacher of piano in Troy and Vandalia schools in the 1940s. She also taught private piano and organ lessons in her home for many years until her retirement in 1985. In 1948 she married Ralph F. Rohrer of Dayton, he predeceased her in 1953. In 1957 she married Clarence E. Rohrer of Tremont City. He predeceased her in 2006. Family includes Edward and Peggy Rohrer of Oak Harbor, Ohio, Christopher and Jeannie Sprink of Owosoo, Mich.; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by son, John Rohrer in 1996. Mary now lives in Owosso, Mich. near her family. The family requests birthday greetings be sent to her at 1330 W.
