WEST MILTON - The Bulldogs hosted the Troy track and field team at a Milton-Union quad meet Tuesday, April 6 and the Trojan girls came away with the win while the boys finished second to Milton-Union. The Milton-Union girls finished second.
 
For Milton-Union, Leah Minneman won a pair of titles in the 100 and 200, in 13.0 seconds and 27.4 econds, respectively. Nicole Kilmkowski won the 1,600 in 5:33.1. The Bulldogs won the 4x400 and the 4x800 in 4:39.1 and 11:27.2, respectively.
 
For the boys, Trent Warner won the high jump clearing 5-foot-6. Cory Douglas won the 400 in 54.3 seconds. Sergei Brubaker won the 1,600 in 4:54.1, Tyler Heisey won the 3,200 in 11:04.6. The Bulldogs won the 4x400 in 3:44.
 
Both teams will be back in action Friday at the Troy Invitational.

TIPP CITY - Tipp City Public Library is your family’s “Discovery Zone” for great programs and activities during National Library Week, April 12 – 17.
Each day local officials and business leaders will take their turn behind the circulation desk. Along with the laughs, it will be a great chance to meet Tipp City’s leaders and see how well they can cope with a short stint as a guest librarian.
 
Monday
 
Join The Mystery Lovers Book Discussion Group for “Discover… Intrigue” at 7 p.m., when the group considers Tears of the Giraffe by Alexander McCall Smith. This is the second entry in the charming No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series.
 
Everyone is invited. Copies of the book, both written and audio productions, are available at the front desk. Dessert and refreshments will be served.
 
Tuesday
 
Families are invited to “Discover … Critters in Your Backyard” at 6:30 p.m. All ages will enjoy learning about local wildlife when they attend this entertaining presentation from Firefly Frances of the Miami County Parks District. Live animals will be featured.

COVINGTON - Covington’s Halley Roberts was in a zone Tuesday night on the mound, hurling a no-hitter in a 4-0 shutout victory in the Cross County Conference opener against Bethel.
 
“Halley was hitting her zones very well,” Covington coach Dean Denlinger said. “We called a lot of pitches on the edges to keep them (Bethel hitters) chasing and Halley hit all of her spots.”
 
Roberts faced 23 batters in the contest april 6, striking out 12 and allowing only one walk. The only other base runner came on a fielding error by Covington.

Fundraising auction and rummage sale

TIPP CITY - The Tipp City Church of Christ will host their annual spring Gospel Meeting April 11-14 with Phil Grear of Springfield.
 
The theme for this series is “God Give us Christian Homes.” The services are “When God Says ‘Marriage,’” 9:30 a.m. Sunday; “Making Marriage Work,” 10:30 a.m. Sunday; “Family Beatitudes,” 6 p.m. Sunday; “The Head of the Home,” 7 p.m. Monday; “The Heart of the Home,” 7 p.m. Tuesday; and “Does Jesus Live at Your Home,” 7 p.m. Wednesday.
